Four Benefits to Joining AkSCA

1.  Professional Development and Consultation-your membership in AkSCA supports advocacy for the school counseling profession across the state and contributes to your own professional growth through professional development and exclusive consultative services.  We offer professional development opportunities each month and a full list can be found on this website.

2.  Statewide Conference-As the state professional association for practicing school counselors, graduate students in school counseling, school counselor educators, and other professionals serving students we are proud to partner with the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development and vendors for a state conference.

3.  ASCA Affiliation-AkSCA is the state division of the American School Counselor Association.  We work with ASCA to bring you news and opportunities from our national organization.  As a result, you will be able to receive up to date news and research.

4.  Networking and Leadership-If you are a new counselor or veteran, AkSCA can help you develop a network of peers.  Join us for a Zoom talk or virtual conference.  We also offer a variety of committees that you can join or become actively involved as a leader and advocate.
